Genealogy
Unless otherwise indicated in the footnotes, the following information is derived from the Rhodt Church Book.
Wendel Bruch, who was perhaps born around 1570, is the progenitor of the Rhodt Bruch family. He and Margretha, surname unknown, had the following known children:
- Johannes: bap. 11 Oct 1601 (Johann Traut, son of Georg?)
- Steffan: bap. 21 Apr 1605 (Steffan Annan)
- Hans Burckhardt: bap. 14 Aug 1608 (Burckhard, son of Antony Messerschmidt; Hans Wendel, son of Stephan Fuetten); m(1). Catharina Nauenberger, 5 May 1633; m(2). Anna Mangolt, daughter of Ludwig, 16 Jul 1638; bur. 10 Jan 1680
- Hans David: bap. 30 Jan 1625 (Hans Vetin Prech [sic]; David Winter)
Second Generation
Hans Burckhardt Bruch and Catharina Nauenberger had the following child:
- Eva: bap. 7 Feb 1634 (Hans, son of Hans Biertzen, youth; Eva, wife of Joerg Banhen); m. Jacob Pfraum, 15 Nov 1652
Burckhardt then married Anna Mangolt and had the following children:

- Hans Jacob: bap. 25 Mar 1646 (Jacob Wolff; Hans, son of Stephan Wolff); m. Anna Catharina Lachenmeier (Seibel), 28 Jan 1667; d. 1693
- Hans Heinrich: bap. 3 Sep 1648 (Heinrich Born and his son Hans)

Third Generation
Hans Jacob Bruch married Anna Catharina Seibel, who was the widow of Jacob Lachenmeier. They had the following children:

- Hans Debold (Theobald): bap. 10 Sep 1671; m(1). Anna Catharina Weisen, daughter of Georg, 3 Jul 1693; m(2). Anna Barbara Jung, 15 May 1703
- Hans Niklauss: bap. 20 Jun 1673; m. Anna Catharina Hitschler, daughter of Johann Georg, 15 Jul 1695
- Hans Georg: bap. 30 Nov 1678
- Sophia Barbara: bap. 17 Jul 1681
- Johann Tobias: bap. 14 Jun 1685

Fourth Generation
Hans Jacob Bruch, surgeon and barber, lived in Landau after his marriage. Later, he moved to Dürkheim where he was a prominent citizen. He married Maria Margretha Sartorius, whose father was also a surgeon, and had the following children:
- Maria Magdalena: b. 11 Jun 1692; bap. 13 Jun 1692 in Landau (sponsored by Maria Magdalena, daughter of Johann Nicolaus);[3] d. 19 Feb 1695; bur. 21 Feb 1695 in Landau, age 2 and ¾[4]
- Maria Catharina: b. 28 Sep 1694; bap. 1 Oct 1604 in Landau (sponsored by Maria Catharina, daughter of Johann Christoph Lorchen);[5] d. 30 Jan 1696; bur. 31 Jan 1696 in Landau[6]
- Johann Jacob: b. 31 Mar 1697; bap. 3 Apr 1697 in Landau (sponsored by Johann Jacob Laub; Johannes Hau…[?]; Johann Daniel Rapp, surgeon of Sta [?]);[7] became a Lutheran minister and died in Bechtheim 30 Mar 1771; bur. 2 Apr 1771[8]
- Catharina Elisabetha: bap. 15 Aug 1699 in Dürkheim (sponsors were Justus Hammen, “I.U. Doctor;” Catharina Elisabetha, wife of Nicolai Guischard)[9]
- Maria Margretha: b. 9 Feb 1703; bap. 11 Feb 1703 in Dürkheim (sponsors were Simon Wilfon, secretary; Anna Maria, his wife; Johann Philip [?], merchant and his wife Margretha);[10] m. Johann Philip Stauch, son of the late N. Stauch, Pfarrer of Anweiler, 15 Jun 1728[11]
