Neu

Andreas Neu of Remmesweiler was the son of Marx Neu, who was originally from Schiffweiler, later Remmesweiler, and a daughter of Nickel Paul of Remmesweiler. His parents were married 15 Oct 1654.[1] Andreas Neu married Catharina Volz, daughter of Johannes of Mainzweiler, 29 Sep 1683.[2] They had the following children:

  1. Theobald: b. about 1687 in Remmesweiler; conf. 1701 in Herxheim[3]
  2. Conrad: bur. 30 Sep 1691 in Remmesweiler, no age given[4]
  3. Andreas: bap. 15 Jan 1690 in Remmesweiler (see below for discussion of the identity of this Andreas)[5]
  4. Nicolaus: bap. 2 Apr 1692 in Remmesweiler[6]
  5. Cornelius: b. about 1694; bur. 9 Feb 1773, age 78, in Leistadt[7]

Catharina Volz died 21 May 1722, age 65. Andreas Neu died 9 Sep 1726.[8]

Andreas Neu, the Locksmith, is probably the Andreas, son of Andreas, born in 1690. The other Andreas Neu living in Leistadt at the same time was probably from Hassloch and related to the Neu families therein.

Andreas Neu the Locksmith married Maria Elisabetha Saur, daughter of Heinrich Lorentz Saur of Kallstadt, 15 Sep 1722 in Kallstadt.[9] They had the following children:

  1. Heinrich Lorentz: bap. 7 Oct 1723 in Kallstadt; d. 26 Feb 1726 in Kallstadt[10]
  2. Anna Barbara: b. 9 Feb 1726; bap. 12 Feb 1726 in Kallstadt[11]
  3. Johann Michael: b. 12 Nov 1728; bap. 14 Nov 1728 in Leistadt[12]
  4. Anna Eva: b. 21 Apr 1731; bap. 14 Apr 1731 in Leistadt[13]
