Overview
The Bruch family in Leistadt (and later Kallstadt) was founded by the master cooper Matthes Bruch, who was probably the same person as Matthes Bruch of Ellweiler, who was born about 1652. His family resided in Leistadt for only a few decades; his first son, Andreas, moved to neighboring Kallstadt while his second son, Matthias, emigrated to North America in 1736, settling in Northampton County, Pennsylvania.
